It Takes An Ex-Mormon To Know A Mormon

Ex-Mormon cartoonist, Steve Benson, slams Mitt Romney by saying that there is no way a “devout Mormon” can seperate “church and state.” When Mitt Romney claims that his faith will have no influence in his decision-making process, Steve Benson responds sarcastically, “Yeah, right.”

According to Benson, a Mormon believer is required by church doctrine to “obey God’s commands” over anything else. Romney, like all “temple Mormons,” had made his secret vows using Masonic-derived handshakes, passwords and symbolic death oaths that he promised never to reveal to the outside world. Benson further explains that Romney also secretly vowed to devote his time, talents, and more to the building of the Mormon religion on earth. “When Mitt says he belongs to a church that doesn’t tell him what to do, that’s false; it’s a 24/7, do-what-you’re-told-to-do church.”

So why is Mitt Romney still in the running race for presidency? And why are so many Americans not concerned about Mormonism? Benson correctly answers, ”Most journalists don’t know about actual Mormon teachings and practices.” While Benson’s response is specific to journalists, his statement can easily be applied to America-at-large.
